Quill Gordon Emerger

Postby David S. » Thu Jan 24, 2013 5:56 pm

I've been playing around with these emergers for a while trying to incorporate the major traits of some of my favorite classic patterns. This one is basically the same type of fly as the Red Quill-emerger I posted some time back, but tied in the style of the Quill Gordon. The hook is a Partridge K14ST (Oliver Edwards Nymph/Emerger Hook).

A beautiful fly that will surely fool the fish, I like it. :)

That really is one nice looking fly as so many are here. Those quill wraps sure pop.

Yea, you have such a clean neat appearance to all your flies, beautiful job! I am not much of an emerger guy due to the places I frequent but that is class A no matter how you slice it. CJ

Thanks gents, glad you find it to your liking :) I do quite a bit of emerger-fishing and I have found this style of fly quite effective. I also like Bob Wyatt's different emerger patterns, nice simple patterns that really catch.. /David S.
