Sorry to Hijack a little but this post had me think of this fly that intrigued me ... I took this out of the mouth of mouth of a good sized brown a while back on thee Brodheads. Never seen anything like this pattern before or since. Sort of black muddler with silver tinsel. Beatifully tied..siz e 12...

Interesting Teddy! Can't say I have seen that before...I have been using longer leaders and passing it thru the guides with a fish is getting to be a necessity. I will try it. I like it

Matched Duck Quills?

Looking for really good quality matched duck quills for traditional wets. Found these at the old Somerset show a while back (unmarked except for pencil )and they were fantastic. Anybody know who were selling these or any other source for good quality stuff?

Silk Questions

Not to familiar with silk but recently acquired this old package of what I assume is silk? Nice colors and I tried the long thin wide spools on bodies of soft hackles but it was fraying as I wrapped it and got a little fuzzy. Also it did not "unwind into strands" as I have heard mentioned in discuss...

I love the 16/0 Veevus for small stuff. #18-24,s and it is quite strong and easy to use.
