Re: 2018 Somerset Fly Fishing Show?

Heard it is moving because the building was sold as well. New site not announced. Heard speculation Raritan exposition center or AC. Hope it doesn't go to AC.

Re: Free signed and personlized book: trivia!

Don't know, but I love your book. I have been tying nothing but classic Catskill dry flies for dry fly fishing since I got it. There is just something cool about using a classic Catskill dry fly as opposed to one of the more modern patterns and they work.

It was NJ not NY and it was posted after stocking. I'm sure it was not stocked again.

Re: Public Lands Transfer

For those interested who may not know, NY has acquired public access fishing rights to many streams over the years and has posted them on the Fish and Game web site. I live in NJ and wish my state would do the same. In regards to another comment, I was fishing a local river two years ago after an or...

Re: Call to Arms

I read the article when the post was first put up and I thought it was crap. I reread after the recent posts and it is still crap. It is a one sided, VERY POLITICAL, argument. The author starts off by bashing America and its founding fathers, then goes on to bash conservatives and claim a conspiracy...

Re: Trashing the Catskills

Earlier this year I was doing a stream clean up on a trout TCA. I was talking to another volunteer and told him that I was going to fish afterwards using access which I always use from a gated community. They have always been good with it as long as you park in their lot and not on the street. He to...

Simple Killer Caddis Pupa

caddis.jpg I have been using this pattern with a lot of success over the past several months. It gets hit either as the point or dropper. I usually fish it ahead of a small emerger 18-22. I tie it in size 16-18. Body is light olive with gold wire wrap. Tail is short to simulate feelers on the caddi...

Re: Brookie in the Willow

I fished the Willo on Saturday and had a 6' brookie and a 15' brown from the same run. As has been said previously, the further up you go, the more likely you are to catch one.

Re: Wading rain jacket

Isn't it amazing what mark up we pay for designated "fly fishing clothing" especially by the name brands like Simms and Orvis? It's a gosh darn raincoat.

Re: New Jersey Opening Day

Nice browns. I fished KLG Friday and chickened out with the weather Saturday but was back at it Sunday which was still cold but dry.
