Hi guys, here's something I dug up recently....there's not much "out there" to find on this pattern.

Happy new year!

Re: Elsie's flies

Hi guys, I have two Light Hendricksons that were supposedly tied by Elsie, but I have no official provenance. I'll have to ask my consignment customer where he acquired them again - can't remember. The majority of the other flies in his collection have solid provenance. Whatcha' think of this one? G...

Re: Lady Beaverkill

Thanks Mike. My customer has many Dette flies that were tied on barbless hooks. The original owner (from Emmaus, PA) ordered from the Dettes on a regular basis and probably requested barbless as you stated. His documentation (not direct from the Dettes, but photos of his own - see attached) shows ma...

Re: Hewitt's Neversink Skater

Hi guys, thought I would share this one, allegedly a Hewitt Skater. Not sure if it was tied by Ed or the Darbees...thoughts? My customer acquired all of his "Hewitt" flies directly from Chris Holmes, Jr. and has a notarized letter signed by Chris. As most of you know, the Holmes family (Chris Sr.) w...

Re: Lady Beaverkill

David, your flies on this forum are simply amazing! If ya' weren't so damn far away, I'd talk you into teaching me! Here's a Dette Lady Beaverkill. Did Walt ever tie on barbless hooks? I've been told Winnie did, but would like more opinions/facts from you guys. P1040165x.jpg P1040166x.jpg Thanks, Gary

Re: new cross flies from my collection

Thanks for the warm reception, guys.

I don't want to hijack Ted's great thread thus far, but will find appropriate places on the forum to post some hopefully useful information and photos.

Re: new cross flies from my collection

I have never seen pictures with tails extending straight out from the hook shank. Would like to see more. Hi guys, I've enjoyed this discussion and the fact that it remains civil, given different opinions, is a bonus! P1040091x.jpg Here is a Gordon Quill allegedly tied by Cross that I currently hav...
