I was on the Beaverkill above Rockland Thursday and there was a nice hatch of blue quills mixed with the occasional quill Gordon but it didn't seem to be moving the fish. River was high, cold and a little off color which didn't help matters. Got skunked, but nice to be outdoors again in any event. L...

For those who might be curious Easter fell on 4/1 in 1923, '34. '45 and '56. I don't know how long opening day has been April 1st. In any event, I doubt Sparse was too troubled on any of those dates.
