Re: Woody'sDay

Hope you all had a wonderful opener and great good luck to us all for another trouting season. Once more raising a toast to Woody’s memory on the eve of his commemorative outing. Only two of us making the meeting tomorrow and, due to some mobility issues, necessarily doing so on the disabled vets se...

Re: The best of 40 years of fly patterns

Happy New Year, fellas. Looking over that fly list, I’d have a hard time arguing against any of them. Still, were I forced into it, I’d guess in have to admit to having taken more trout on a

Re: Father and Son

Don’t know if perhaps my criptic entry might have been some inspiration for that lovely reference. Fired off the note about taking Dads for car rides at a stop on the Ashokan. Dad’s 93 and doesn’t like to drive himself too far out of Kingston anymore. He wondered how I could remember all the twists ...

Re: another one passes on

Hope to never forget my chance meeting with Mr. Meck on Kettle Creek. I had no idea who he was and brazenly showed off the fly I’d taken a couple of fish on that morning. Grand guy that he was to me that day, he pointed me at a hole upstream where I took the best trout of any of my PA trips. So long...

Gee...pretty sure this is one of those “Fake News” items. Don’s hair doesn’t look right...too natural. Like his waders though.

Re: Steelhead Fishing

Don’t know who you were hiring before...might have been me before I retired...but I think Carl Coleman has a couple of fellas who might get you on to some private waters. However, too much up here has been posted. Don’t know how long you’ve been away. Wish you luck.

Re: Wading staff

Started using a wading staff pretty much from the get go. Learned early on that a tripod is a hell of a lot more stable than a bipod. Latest and longest-lasting is a Catskill hickory version turned from a piece of hickory gifted from George at the piano-hammer shop in Boiceville. Remember a passed p...
