Re: Fly shows

Here's what you can do, Teddy---- Gather all your photos of folks who over the years stopped by your tying booth. Have cardboard cutouts made of their faces, and position those in front of your tying table at home. It's always the same old "herd" who walks up to chat at the shows. Tie at home, and t...

Re: Eastern Fly Fishing - May/June 2020

At one of the golf tournaments, Tiger Woods was at the first tee being announced. They started naming all the events he had won, until, finally, Phil Mickleson yelled, "Wouldn't it be easier if you named the ones he hasn't won?" Re: Eastern Fly Fishing - May/June 2020

Thank you! There's always a story behind the story, with my stuff--- -EFF mag got in touch with me not long ago, lamenting that they had assigned an "Exposure" piece to another guy interested in doing an installment---but as happens more times than editors would like, the fellow fell through on it....

Re: Trout Town Flies

Wish I had some idea for you---I'll ask around.
-It's interesting that there's so many shops these days. I can recall the years when Roscoe had only Dettes and The Little Store---that was it. And Harry's up the road---

Re: Antrim Streamside

Ed,
I briefly mentioned Antrim Streamside in the previous issue of Eastern FF Magazine (in my short Willowemoc story)----Same people who were trying to get the Antrim Lodge up and running---

-It's a nice place---for "special occasions" I will stay there------

Re: "Catskill Heritage Fly Tiers" group gathering

... No bobbins are used although Chase bobbins were around then . Suffer a bit, like the other Catskill-School tiers did LOL-- A complete list of sanctioned tools and materials is being updated. It's a lot of fun-- I'll be checking on that list... maybe us Noll "kids" will get some "considerations?...

Re: "Catskill Heritage Fly Tiers" group gathering

It will be a lot of fun----will give us all a reminder of "what we all had to tie with" in 1960's into late 70's---let alone what the "old school Catskill icons" tied with. Those darn Noll kits---how did we all do it! The Indian capes were a bit better than the Indian capes sold today---but nothing ...
