Re: Not tying now

Thanks Dana and Ted...I'm on it! The Dette Shop it is.
Hoping to find a Brook Trout with all those deep, dark, rich colors anywhere between the Catskills and the Adirondacks.

Not tying now

Hey, I don't tie flies and was wondering what brands you guys like the best. I bought a pair of Bloody Maris from LL Bean recently and the hackle disintegrated on one after about a half hour of casting. Yes, it was a rocky, swift moving creek and it may have taken a beating but just wanted to get so...

Re: Good Sunday morning

Gotchya.
I was thinking maybe the drainage of the stream you were fishing ran East into Hudson. Perhaps if that was the case I thought it might be possible.

But if your stream eventually runs into the Delaware then probably very unlikely it’s a Salter. That would be a long way to go, right? Haha

Re: Good Sunday morning

Nice fish JoeCz!
Especially the Brookie.
From the picture, it looks quite silvery...any chance it’s a salter?

Re: Flatbrook Fish and Wildlife Management Area

Thank you again. Just the info I was looking for. Was hoping to go this Saturday morning but looking like heavy rain. A commute from Jersey back to Long Island on a Saturday afternoon could be hellish given the forecast and the holiday season
Hopefully soon :D
Thanks again All!

Re: Flatbrook Fish and Wildlife Management Area

Thx njcathrelease! Great to have that piece of mind. ;)

I know nothing about the area...What does one do?...park on side of road and hike through woods in to river? I'll look online for a map perhaps.

Should I expect to see other fishermen this time of year?

Thx again.
