My home water. I know dam removal is good but the area I fish actually went downhill (to me) when the Edwards dam came down. I'm a card carrying dry fly trout weenie and we traded trophy browns for rat stripers and alewives. You would think catching a 5-6 lb schoolie striper on a dry would be fun BU...

Nope. Sorry no pintail. I called my buddy and he swears we used mallard. So I retract my criticism of the fly. I was fishing a cheep imitation. No wonder they didn't work, :D

A famous Maine fly that this Mainer has never caught a fish on either. Quit tying them years ago. I might have some pintail. Lemme look.

These are a bit more traditional. mostly painted eyes and on a proper hook. Mustad 36620. Leiser gives detailed instructions in the Book of Fly Patterns. One of my favorites.
