This really comes close how the classic Catskill dries floats on the water. I don’t think a Catskill dry floats on the water standing on its hackle tips. Those old magazine pictures of a dry fly posed with the tail, hook and hackle keeping it above the surface don’t happen. Even the near weightless...

They vary so much from fox to fox you’d have to check a bunch of roadkill foxes before finding one. I get mine from a trapper buddy and in 10 years I only got one that looks like bearbutt’s. I have a few that are lighter, smaller patch or barely pink at all and I figure they are all good. Curiously ...

No scissors? I don’t know how you tye without scissors. I think scissors are literally the one thing you can’t do without. How do you trim butts, cut slips, shorten fibers.....
