Re: Value for Bergman's Trout 1st ed?
Thanks for the info, I ended up sending the book back because when I cheked the plates, the idiot who owned it circled all the flies he had. There were a few other problems that were not mentioned in the description. I am going to wait and find a better example even if it costs more, it would be wel...

Re: Glen Grant
I was not trying to rain on anyone's parade and the mans work is beautiful. There is no question as to the fact that the feathers are rare and costly, but $1000 for a fly is still alot of money. Flies tied with substitute feathers are $750, real feathers are usually only a $100-$200 dollar swing in ...

Re: Glen Grant
The guy does nice work, but the prices are rediculous. Seeing that he charges hundreds extra for real feathers vs. subs, I think I may just take up bird hunting. It might suck having to go to central and south america or Africa to do it.

Re: Value for Bergman's Trout 1st ed?
I paid $50 for it. The cover isn't great, but all of the plates are intact. It didn't seem like a bad deal being that it is a first ed. first printing.

Value for Bergman's Trout 1st ed?
I just picked up a 1938 first edition of Bergman's Trout, there is no dust jacket and the cover is worn, all plates are intact and the binding is solid - any idea on value?
