Re: Fran's Ausable Stonefly

Hi, I've got a woodchuck pelt here (came from around me in central/eastern Vermont) and the pelt I have looks like it would be a good source of the guard hairs used in Fran's Ausable Stonefly. Re: Famous Grouse?

Hi Gary,

I think this is a great fly -looks like a slightly smaller version would make for a good mini streamer fly. Molson Golden does not come in a fancy bottle, but I still think it could be inspirational.

Take care,

Ed

Re: Attention Atherton fans....

Gosh, I look at my book shelves and I see volumes from the old Borzoi Books for Sportsmen (Knopf), of course lots of Stackpole, Crown, Nick Lyons Books, Little, Brown, & Co., Holt, Rhinehart, & Winston, A.S. Barnes, and many others. At one time, I was a member of the Field & Stream Book Club and the...

Re: So how cold is it?

We had -20 F. here in West Topsham, Vermont this morning around 6:00 am. It got up to a + 2 F. during the day here. Right now at 10:40 pm it looks like -13 F. here. It is not supposed to get as cold tonight as it did last night. Last night the wind was strong as well bring the wind chill temps down ...

Re: Dana Lamb --- fifty years ago

Hi fellas, a topic close to my heart, Dana Lamb. Add in Corey Ford and I will follow you anywhere. It took me a while, but I finally completed my set of Dana Lamb books, all nine. And yes, some were pricey, but I still felt they are well worth the asking price. Now, I guard them with my heart and wi...

Re: Independence Day rivers

Hi Mike, Is your new fishin' camp on skids? You may want to start studying the map and think about a relocation - otherwise, your best fishing will be in January. Sorry, see the same thing on the Winooski up my way - fishing will just start to get good and here they come, kayaks, canoes, tubes, you ...
