Re: Special Dubbing
Anyone even a little interested in the Tup's dubbing has to read the info on the enclosed link: http://classicflyrodforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=70&t=73747&p=594342&hilit=wool#p594342 I know the fellow that actually did this (he, his wife and I have fished together in Cheese Country) and if, afte...

Re: Special Dubbing
Phil & BB Thanks for your offers to baby sit the old Bearded Bohemian. Heck, I don't even know the date and place of the Badger show. Re: Dave Roberts, I wish I owned stock in the Feather Emporium. Last summer, I dropped $300+ on one visit to Dave's house. But I now have enough brown saddle hackles ...

Greenwell Dry Fly Hackles

Could nev...

Re: Special Dubbing
Bearbutt Going back to the pic you posted on the original Tup's dubbing, I have that same pic and, I believe, posted it on the Classic Rod Forum as a refefence after finding the pic on the internet many years ago. It's a good reference in making a similar dubbing. Quite a few years ago, a fellow in ...

Re: Hare's Ear Blend & Partridge Soft Hackles
Chuck Good guess. The dubbing blend used for these soft hackles is very close to the Pink Squirrel dubbing except Natural Hare's Ear and Dark Hare's Ear fur was used instead of gray squirrel fur. All the other materials used in the Pink Squirrel dubbing mixture were then mixed with either of the Har...

Friends asked me today to tie up a few Partridge & Hare's Ear soft hackles which I did with a special blend of materials that I've used for some nymphs.

Heresy Maybe?
Recently, I've decided that I'd be modifying some of the old Norrth Country Spider / Soft Hackle dressings. So I guess my tyings would be best called "variations" and not by their original names. As examples, in several of Sylvester Nemes' books, he shows a Partridge and Orange / Yellow with a dubbe...
