Re: Black Friday, Brown Trout

Nice going Chuck.
Those are some handsome browns there. And your choice of a leech pattern was right on.
I sometimes catch redfin pickerel in slow sections of some trout streams, they are a cool fish.

Thanks for sharing

Connecticut Wild Colors

I spent a few hours yesterday fishing a small stream. The day was lovely at the time I was on stream and I found a few willing brookies to take a dry fly.

Re: Soft-Hackles and Shenandoah Brook Trout

Brk Trt, what a beautiful fish! Don't see many that have that much black lining running all along the belly and underscoring the orange. Very nice. And a little local wine too. Soft-Hackles and Shenandoah Brook Trout

I spent a few days last week hiking about SNP. The streams were in great shape and the brook trout were spectacular. The trout were taken on a variety of flies but the spiders and soft-hackles dominated.

Hi, BT. Like this site, I've been a faithful reader of yours for a long time, but never posted a comment. I've always liked the hooks you tie with, could I ask you who makes them? They look like Allens...? First thanks for reading the blog. The hooks are Allen...W502BL wet fly hook. T...

North Country Flies

These are a few of my favorites. They especially working well these last few weeks.

Various color thread bodies, peacock thorax, and a few turns of starling.
