Re: Overtons wonder wax

I've never used Overton's, not sure I'd ever even heard of it before this thread. I'm curious, how sticky/tacky are we talking? ... IMO  , "The Best"! ;) I purchased my first tube when it first hit the market for a buck, a single George Washington bill... I wish I had purchased several presid...

For those of you old enough to remember having to hand wax your cross country skis it almost sounds like you're describing a breed of Klister. There were various grades of ...

Re: Stone dams and autumn spawning trout

I won't say my hatred of dams borders on pathological but it probably wouldn't take much of a push to send me round the twist. The dam in your pictures is actually pretty impressive; there was some significant energy expended in making it. Is recreational dam building a common occurrence in the Cats...

'The Last Supper' actually comes from Richard Brautigan's 'Trout Fishing in America.' Rob[/i] I miss Brautigan's writing. I picked up 'Trout fishing in America' in high school, and by the time I realized it wasn't actually about trout fishing in America I was hooked. No pun intended. The Timothy Le...

Re: Ernest Schwiebert and the Epeorus Nymph

Sorry to revive an old thread but reading about men like Schwiebert always gets my attention. When I was younger I did find Schwiebert to be a pompous ass; ...turns out the ass was really me. Must be something about being young and knowing everything; I used to have those great 'Question Authority!'...

Long distance salute

Being a lover of fine beverages, I can appreciate the name of this forum. I notice the tendency of this site is a tad skewed towards fly fishermen of a certain geological region of the country; this is a good thing. It shows a real commitment to perpetuating a fly fishing culture already steeped in ...
