Re: weekend...
Not a total blow out, but close. The Upper East Branch of the Delaware (Downville to East Branch) is at a real nice level. So is the first few miles below the damn on the West Branch. There is always Ronbo's pond!

Re: Invasion by some AZZhole
We are playing with some anti spam measures. I happened to be out of town for the afternoon and was unable to deal with it as it happened.

Re: Increase in fishermen this year?
Depends a lot on where you are. The Beaverkill and Willowemoc have been on a down swing the last few years in most place on the river. The West Branch of the Delaware and East Branch have been seeing quite a bit more angler pressure. Charlie Meck wrote this great little article http://charlesmeck.co...

Re: Mayfly mystery
I would bet there is some kind of very small trib around. A local friend has a little spring fed stream that is no more then a foot wide and the hatches I have see come out of there can be so large I can't figure out how all those insects can fit in it.

Re: Hendrickson Color
This is always something that bothers me! I have had anglers get in my face about how pink the bug are and I just don't see it. We have Flick to blame for this! Steenrod's Hendrickson had no pink. I personally think Flick's choice of dubbing had little to do with the real color of the insect, just t...

Re: Hazel Bridge
It is open right now, but will be closing once repairs begin. The parking area can be accessed through the back road by going over the covered bridge in Livingston Manor, then at the intersection make a right and follow road along river to Hazel.

Re: Yikes!!!
My response to the bad weather and to high flows was to float down the East Branch. It has great to be out but we had a big zero for the day. There were a TON of midges in some areas and many paraleps. The most interesting thing was the number of birds feeding on these bugs, dozens in some areas. I ...

Re: Proportions? AGAIN
Sorry Joe, Maybe I simply give your family and the others from that era more credit then you do. I really don't see a need for tiers with that experience to need a measuring device. If they can't eyeball the hackle by simply bending it, they can partially bend it against the hook. I submit that all...
