Re: Mayflys

I had the same thing hatching on my stream and was trying to put a name on it. Mine looked almost exactly like yours but the body was a hair more brown. Perfectly clear wings and two tails that were extremly long about 1 1/2 to 2 inches. It was a pretty site watching them hover over my small stream....

Re: My #1, go-to, when everything else fails...

Yup, those Bead Head Johnnys worked pretty good today. Caught half dozen decent browns and one rainbow at the klg today and missed more than I caught. One was a knot that broke loose on the best fish of the day  John, I used some turkey quill for the wing case,. It looked ok but what are yo...

Re: Work bench for planing cane

Go with the 4x4 legs and an upper and lower 6x6 cross brace. You can install shelving on the bottom and I also installed a split shelf halfway...

Re: Work bench for planing cane

Dennis, I have made two benches. One is made from aluminum extrusions and pvc board. It is very nice and is very expensive to build. I got the material as surplus from a project and would not of bought or designed it if I was paying for it. Now my other bench is built with 4x4 legs with 2x6 crossbea...

Re: Patented Bamboo Rod

Eric, I would have to say it can't be the graphite composition. Bonding graphite to bamboo is also nothing new. There have been rods built with Graphite cores before. I still believe it's his impregnation chemicals and resins he uses that he seeked the patent for. I applaud his ingenuity and have to...

Re: Patented Bamboo Rod

I'm a little qurious on what exactly was patented? certainly not the hollow building. The ferrules may be a little unique but not the first. I can only guess it is the impregnation process he uses from his snowboard building days. otherwise I just don't see enough to be patented??? Here is a rod I b...
