Bob, glad you had a good time and got home safely. Hope the last leg of your trip was as good as your first.

Re: This years top flies

Early on (we had an open winter-from Jan. till mid April) it was cone headed buggers and softhackle harer's ears. Once they started looking up it was mostly Royal Wullfs, parachute adams and stimulaters. As I've said before I like em hungry and dumb.

Re: Fishing With Narcodog

I got to fish with Bob the day after Labor day for about half a day. Met him at the upper end of the Harriman ranch Monday evening and we fished about four hours on tuesday. Eric showed up in the afternoon and I got to meet him. The Henry's Fork is a beautiful stream and I enjoyed what time I spent ...

Re: Hille?

Live in Wellsboro and can't find Hille's and I've tried. They moved twice that I know of and all of a sudden they were gone. At one time they were one of the best sources for tying materials and fly fishing books around. Miss that place! Used to run into his son-in-law at the trout unlimited show in...

Re: What a Sight!

The decline in the pheasant population is due like narcodog says to the decline in farming in Pa. It is also due to the change in farming practices. Hay is taken off the fields earlier than it used to be and pheasants nest in the hay fields hence nests suffer and the population suffers with it. As f...

Re: Fly Boxes...

On small streams for brookies or cutts it's a Richardson I've had for thirty years or so filled with Royal Wulffs, parachute adams, stimulators and elk hair caddis. On larger streams I carry a vest that weighs as much as most anchors

Re: July7-8th report

You did well to leave the trout alone in the high temperature waters CJ. Low water makes them spooky but doesn't stress them like the heat does. Congratulations on a superb day. Fishing is all about having fun. Glad you managed it without causing the resource harm :D
