Loon Knot Sense question?

As most of you probably know, Loon makes a product called Knot Sense, which is a liquid coating applied to knots mainly to give them strength and make them streamlined. In theory, coating the knot cements the coils together preventing failure from them slipping and cutting into each other under grea...

Re: How many remember Harry Darbee

Hi Bill Vance. I went to Bill Adams' 90th birthday party and it was great seeing him again. I met his new girlfriend there. Incidentally, I sat at the same table with Doug Penna and his wife. He and I started the EJTU fly tying courses and ran them together for many years. He doesn't trout fish any ...

Re: How many remember Harry Darbee

Ted will probably remember when we invited him down to an East Jersey Chapter TU meeting and presented him with a plaque for his conservation work. Known as a talker, our thoughts were that after he received the award, he would talk about all the things he did and that would be our program for the n...

Re: Antrim Lodge

I started fishing the Catskills in 1969 and only stayed at the Antrim one night. I remember the bathroom at the end of the hall and each room having a big armoire instead of closets. I also remember Keener's Pool. Those are my fond memories of the Antrim. My un-fond memory is that I didn't sleep a w...

Re: Seeking help with fishing camp mouse problem.

Thanks Stokes, I know about the dryer sheets and that they lose their scent. That's the problem. Once the campground is closed, and snowed-in, I can't go back into the trailer to replace them.

Re: Seeking help with fishing camp mouse problem.

Thanks for the suggestion, Theroe, but that's not practical. Firstly, the mice are in the ceiling and rear wall. Access is limited to two 4 1/2" square holes I cut into the ceiling and and only one has enough height for those small, plastic traps. Then, too, I can't be running up to the campsite eve...

Re: Wader recommendations?

Mine is a prostate problem, common in aging males. All of a sudden--out of the clear blue sky and without any warning--you have to pee immediately and are having difficulty holding it in. It's hard taking your pecker out fast enough when you're in the middle of a river holding a rod and wading staff...

Re: Wader recommendations?

Over the years I have owned everybody's waders from Hodgman to James Scott to Simms to Cabelas to Orvis. Among others, I now have a pair of Redington's which I like. They are lightweight and seem to be a decent product for the price. I now buy all of my waders with zippers because it makes peeing so...

Re: Seeking help with fishing camp mouse problem.

Thanks for the suggestion Corlay. Tomcat mouse spray is a mint oil and the mice aren't supposed to like the scent or getting it on their feet. Unfortunately, it doesn't work for me. Last year I even put those little scented bags that are supposed to repel mice around the inside of the trailer and a ...

Seeking help with fishing camp mouse problem.

Here's a question for someone with extensive amateur or professional pest control experience. My fishing camp is a travel trailer which I keep year-around at a campground in the Catskills. I have n unusual mouse problem that I can't figure out and hope to get some information from this post. The mic...
