Happy Birthday!
Re: Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday goat roper! Enjoy.....
Re: Happy Birthday!
Many thanks folks for the kind words and well wishes... despite cold--- 37 degrees as the high-water mark--- and lots of rain--- well over an inch--- I did do what I love to do most, flyfish for trout... and fish the Esopus...
I was hoping for a single trout under these conditions, but got lucky... early on streamer fishing I hooked four good fish, landed two...
Here's the first, my "birthday-brown", a 16 inch fish...
... and here's the best fish I landed, though I'm not sure the best trout I hooked today...
Yeah, I know we've all heard this before... still, an 18.5 inch brown that ate my white Conehead Woolly Bugger, and I touched...
Here's my Esopus on a mid-November, wet, cold day...
Hey, for you dry-fly guys--- Eric, not to call anyone out by name--- there was a sparse BWO hatch today... I wanted to catch a trout on a dry, and caught three on a #22 CDC Mahogany BWO, including this small wild bow...
I quit after that; wet, cold no more risers to be seen...
It's been a fine day, about as good as it gets...
Thanks!
Ed
