February blues... I mean bows

Post by Eperous » Mon Feb 03, 2020 8:06 pm

Wandered down to the Garden State today, where February air temps hit/broke the 50 degree mark... the little brook was seasonally low, cold, and peat-stained... a few midges were about, else it was dead... R.I.P. dead... still with a small Red-butt Conehead Woolly Bugger on point, with a #14 Pink Squirrel dropper, I almost--- not quite--- managed almost a dozen small wild bows...

Wandered south to the Garden State yesterday, and caught a few wild brook trout on a #18 Dorato Hare's Ear, with a #20 Copper John dropper some 6" below....

Catching them on dry flies!

Nice.
