Got out early on a small creek in Sullivan County and did well. No risers at that time of day, but various Sz 14 mayfly nymphs worked for a few browns from 12 - 19", plus a 10" brookie! Always nice to see one of those in the net.
Hope everyone else is doing well--not seeing a lot of fishing posts lately.

Re: Good Sunday morning
Those danged isonychia seem to work all season long don't they?
Re: Good Sunday morning
Nice fish JoeCz!
Especially the Brookie.
From the picture, it looks quite silvery...any chance it’s a salter?

Don't take it for granite, it's a gneiss day.

The brookies in this creek (the couple I’ve caught) just seem to be colored this way. I’ve seen darker-colored ones from other streams in the Catskills. I‘m pretty sure biologists have identified several strains/geographically isolated populations. I can’t imagine a Sullivan County fish would go out to sea—maybe potentially the Delaware?

Gotchya.
I was thinking maybe the drainage of the stream you were fishing ran East into Hudson. Perhaps if that was the case I thought it might be possible.
But if your stream eventually runs into the Delaware then probably very unlikely it’s a Salter. That would be a long way to go, right? Haha
