Hit a small headwater stream by my place on Saturday....
Dry flies only, tiny water at 58*, and hemlocks overhead. CJ
"Gentlemen,remove your hats,this is it"
"This is where the trout was invented?"
"Oh he existed in a crude, primitive form in Waltons England"
"But this is where they painted spots on him and taught him to swim"

That is one torpedo of a brown... exquisite coloring and markings, too! Look at those fins.

You must have had your heart in your mouth when you hooked that one. Congrats for bringing it to net, I am sure he fought like mad.

Congrats, you earned that one.

Give a man a fly rod, a shotgun and a bird dog and he'll never be worth a d*mn.

Nice looking fish. A Goldilocks fish -- slender, but without the big head that would indicate it was starving in a small stream. Just right.
