Pickerel fishing in NJ

Hey Guys , I was wondering if anyone has fished for pickerel down in the NJ pine barrens and if so , if they know where I can go down there to get into a few ? I read that the pickerel fishing can be really hot down there this time of year , but don’t know the area at all .

It definitely can be at this time of the year. I wish I could give you current advice, but it's 40 years since fished there regularly for pickerel.
