Tied a deer hair mouse for a someone.
Surely not a 'fly' to be fished.
A few times a year I tie at fly fishing shows. When people ask me what I catch with my mice I tell them women and kids :)

That is a beautifully tied mouse pattern – I really like the orange hotspot that you have as well! I’m sure that would catch big brown trout at night in my neck of the woods.

In fact, I would pay you to tie a couple of those for me!!!

"Here I come to save the day.......!"

nice clean work. Makes me think of Ralphie Graves and his shrew...I loved to antagonize him by calling it a rat...

Thank you everyone :)
Yeah these mice are fun but time consuming to tie.
Usually takes 1 to 1.5 hours. Sometimes even longer.

For fishing I'd use less well defined cuts but just a profile of a mouse, no ears, whiskers or eyes.

So you're saying "fishing flies", not mountable ties, like you posted here.... :D

Often when tying at shows I get the question whether a fly (say the deer hair mouse) is for sale.
I tell them don't sell my flies, I give them away but only if one is willing to watch the whole tying process which can take an hour. The ones that are willing to do so are often women or kids.

Sometimes they ask if I would still sell the fly. Asking them what they would consider a fair price, often around $5-10.
I'd say I was thinking around $30 and they would wave it away. I'd then ask how much is their an hours work worth at their job?... :D
