RE: BEARDED OAT FLY?
I just reread THE BROOK TROUT AND THE DETERMINED ANGLER by Charles Bradford. On page 68 he quotes “Vegetable lures.-Bearded seed of the wild oat has been successfully used as artificial flies in fishing for brook trout.”
After looking up what the seed looked like I understand why. My question is ,does anyone have any information about this fly?
Thanks, Lou
