Since there are so many excellent fly tiers on the SGM forum, I was wondering how you tie spin dubbing for smaller wets, flymphs and soft hackle fly patterns?
I posted on my blog how I have been doing it for the past year...
less dubbing, then cross wrap with the tying thread...this will give a slim body with some fuzziness and a two tone effect///thin flies in clear water don't need much stuff.
Not exactly what you asked John... but, I'm disciple of Polly Rosborough and tied BIG, FAT, WEIGHTED FUZZY NYMPHS.... YIKES!!!!.... based upon his out-of-print book, Tying and Fishing the Fuzzy Nymphs... once again, I'm out of the mainstream....
I updated my original post and question to the group to better convey what I was thinking, but I failed to put into words the other day. I was having a brain freeze again when I originally posted this, which seems to be happening more the older I get.
