Guild Vol 1 Mary Dette DVD

Post by drlogik » Wed Aug 07, 2013 9:24 pm

Hi folks!

Hey, do any of you have an extra Mary Dette DVD that you'd be willing to sell? A guy on another forum is looking for one and the Guild doesn't seem to have any more.

Regards,
Grant

There is a guy here looking for one too!

I talked to Joe about it, he thought it would be a good idea to see if the Guild would re-make a batch as it seems to be a very sought after item. CJ

CJ,

That may be a good idea getting more made if the demand is there.

Joe says guys stop in the shop and ask him all the time...I need run it past the Guild, seems like a money maker considering how often its in demand. CJ

It's worth bringing up the issue, I guess, but Ken Kobayashi, who did the video editing and who had the contacts who actually produced the discs, got married a year or two ago and disappeared into marital bliss--he's no longer a member of the guild. As I recall, Mary also stipulated that if we're were going to use her image, it not be for money-making purposes, although I may be wrong about that.

Anyway, there's more involved than just a phone call. :(

Kenny was at Summerfest, he is still around occasionally.

I don't have much knowledge of making DVD's, but cant you get one and make copies from that? Don't people make pirate movies all the time? Of course I am not suggesting we take one to some alley in Camden and have them burn a bunch of illegal DVD's, but if we got permission from all involved it may not be so hard to do.

Then again, I don't know. CJ

The most important person to get permission from is the person who owns the rights to the footage, most likely whomever filmed it. Beyond that, having permission from anyone who was filmed is never a bad idea.
