Humpy

Post by ibookje »

Fishing season has ended and it's time to tie some flies, in my case the Humpy.
Here are a dozen Humpies I recently tied for a fly swap.

And these two fellows are just for fun :)

Ed,
The Humpy was the fly that started my love for tying with deer hair.
I love the typical looks of this fly.

Nicely tied. Those will float like corks.

Well done. I love Humpies, but hate to tie them.

If we lived closer, I'd invite you for a few tying get togethers :)

Me also... till I referred to Leeson/Schollmeyer's The Fly Tier's Benchside Reference :? ... it's one book that I never read cover-to-cover, and most likely never will, but I've found it to be a real life-saver on patterns I rarely tie/techniques I don't often utilize... the book is truly a benchside reference, and that's where my copy sits... ;)

Tied one for a friend in South Africa this evening.
I think I need to get a macro lens.

Very nice tie and, BTW, your lens is perfectly adequate.

Thank you.
I couldn't get as close as I wanted to, so I had to crop quite a bit thus losing sharpness.
Used a Lumix G7 by the way.
