Looking through some old catalogs online and in print, I am fascinated by the style of drys, big soft hackle, snecked hooks and tailing that doesn't float
I made up a selection for a place I know and love...

Probably a product of the times.... 
CJ, you younger guys have no idea what old farts like me had to suffer through "in the day" unless you were like Mike Valla, and personal friends with the Dettes or Darbees...

3) Why do you think the female Hendickson (traditional Catskill pattern) has a creamish tan/pink cast fur body and the female Hendrickson with the egg sac has a gray body? I have not found a reference that credits this latter pattern to anyone. Do you know?
Oh, last night I blended a load of muskrat and was preparing to tie a bunch of Adams' and female Hendricksons. Thanks for the reminder. Maybe I'll post the results.

Allan, to answer your inquiries...
1] Chenille for the egg sac,
2] The 94830 is a round bend, standard wire, reversed dry fly hook. Very old and I only have about 4 dozen total in 10,12,14 and 16,
3] George Cooper on or about 1913. Why he chose a gray body we cant know, but here is the quote from Van Puts book Trout Fishing in the Catskills
"Today's imitationists believe that the fly George Cooper tied was created to imitate the female Hendrickson spinner, the most prolific fly hatch on the Beaverkill. Anyone who has fished the stream during this hatch can see the resemblance by noting the distinct yellow egg sac of the natural and can understand why Cooper added it to the fly"

I told you I have little, if any, knowledge of taking photos, getting them onto the computer, some editing to make them appear nice, and then posting them on a site
. However, I spent a lot of time trying 
and here are the results . Two photos. I'm not sure how they'll look. Maybe they need to be enlarged or something. Anyway, you'll see (or not) .
