Reading a book of old-time fishing stories--- Fishing with the Fly by Charles Orvis and A. Nelson Cheney... some old wet-fly patterns from the late 1800's are mentioned over and over... two that caught my attention are the Seth Green and White Miller...

So I'm wondering, does anyone still tie/fish these old wet flies?

I fish a White Miller dry during the white fly hatch, and I've tied but never fished a White Miller wet.

I haven't thought about the Seth Green since I was a kid. Any place I'd use it, I could just as well use a Greenwell's Glory, which I always carry.

For those who don't recognize the name Seth Green, he founded the hatchery system in the US, specifically in NY state.

Yes, yes I do. Point in fact most of my fishing is done with flies who's pattern is 100 years old or older. I call it the century club.
