I mentioned this before somewhere, but when tying rabbit strip streamers (zonkers and such), I flip the finished fly over in the vise and apply a line of Aquaseal or some other flexible silicone adhesive to the underside of the rabbit strip -- the hide.



it keeps the tail from fouling. I used to use the mono loop trick but now use the silicone. You just need to be careful when applying so you don't glop it all over the rabbit hair.

As much as I love dry fly fishing, there is also something about the violent strikes that big streamers can induce!
