Betters' Mini-Muddler

Post by Eperous »

Still working on streamers and assorted long-flies for 2021 and knocked out a few today, including some Fran Betters' Mini-Muddlers on #10 and #12 Mustad 9671's. I haven’t fished these in a while, but when I do they usually don’t disappoint. And I vividly recall the late Fran Betters suggesting to me years ago to cover the fly with mucilin and then pull the Mini-Muddler under water allowing it to rise back to the surface like a hatching insect, a trick that worked for me in the past, but I haven’t utilized in decades.
