Classic Streamers (Unknown Tiers) - Photo Heavy Post

I was recently given a set of old classic streamers, which I promised to photograph and share with those who may be interested. Unfortunately I do not know who tied these streamers. They are likely from a number of different tiers.

Anyway, I hope you guys like these.

OVERALL SET (missing one fly)


Large Tandem Streamer:




Grey Ghost Streamer: (look carefully for the strands of yellow hair, I am pretty sure it is dyed polar bear. The translucency, when viewed in-hand, is amazing.)



Material moved aside to show the magnificent body work.



Red Streamer:


Unfortunately the silver tinsel body and rib have oxidized and turned black. The rib is some sort of round metal tinsel. Beautiful stuff.


Green Ghost:



Large Tandem Streamer (Different than first one): This one has been chewed on by a fish. The tandem body is damaged.





Tandem Streamer (Sort of a white winged streamer/blonde hybrid):



Tandem with Treble Hook Trailer:




Small White Streamer with Red Cheeks:

Close up photo showing construction of under body. This fly has obviously been chewed on by a few fish, but it is still mostly entact.

hey ray, some of those look like they're tied upon allcocks and the bonbright is beautiful....really nice find.

where did you find them? one or two maybe be wendell folkins..

Thanks guys. I was hoping you guys liked these. The flies were given to me by William Anderson. He recently bought a few old fly wallets off eBay. One of the wallets was full of these streamers. William knew how much I love streamers, so he gave them to me.

Ted - can you tell me more about the hooks? Which one is the bonbright?

i think the gray ghost and maybe the red hackled silver body streamer are on allcocks....very hard to be positive but the sproat bend, harsh angled down eye, and roundish tapered point look the part.

the painted eyes on the green ghost put that somewhere in the 1950's as does the tandems...i would venture to say that these flies were used by someone up here in the new england. and the flies seem to date from the 1940's up through the 60's.


hard to impossible to be 100% certain.
