Just as an FYI.... Mike Valla's new book Tying and Fishing Bucktails and Other Hair Wings could be out next month... I just ordered my pre-publication copy from B&N... looks like another fine book by Mike...

Thanks, Ed

-As is usually the case, I have to thank a lot of folks who helped. Our Gary Tanner, consummate salmon tier and angler, tied dozens of Atlantic Salmon hairwings for this project. He worked very hard and his efforts added greatly to "the story." Thank you, Gary! And our Teddy P.----gee Ted, thanks for the salt stuff and a few other bucktails you contributed :)

Any updates on the release date?

When I pre-ordered they forecast July 1, but I haven't heard anything yet.

BB... I pre-ordered also, and my last update was the middle of this month, which should be very soon...

Thanks for asking;
There is a slight delay in release of this title, even though it's listed just about everywhere as a July 1 release. I think the glitch occurred when Rowman & Littlefield purchased Stackpole Books last December. My book got caught right smack in the middle during that transition in December, when the thing was right smack in the middle of the editing-phase. The project moved into the capable and friendly hands of staff at the Globe Pequot Press (another imprint publisher under R&L). So, then there was a slight hang up on the Back Cover design for the book, final edits and final changes that were still in the mix in June.

This is still a Stackpole book, but different and many additional hands touched it along the way since it was completed and submitted way back in Sept 2015.

The last I heard, which was a couple of weeks ago, the book was being shipped by mid-July to the stores. I still don't have an author copy yet myself.

Here's the full cover, front and back
