Thought I'd try a fly to complement the Famous Grouse logo bird. Still trying to get a tremor in my hands under control, so please don't spend anytime looking at the head!

Very nice, Gary; particularly nice to my eye as that is the only blend I buy. :)

Lovely looking fly, as usual... :D but, I'm a beer and pretzel guy myself...

LOL, for the most part, me too, Ed. Trying to figure out a Miller Lite fly might be a daunting task.

I think you've done a particularly fine job! Now would you work on one to complement Henry McKenna bourbon, and another for that Ruby River Gin! :D :D :D

Now that you mention it, a fully-dressed Silver Grey makes me think of a gin and tonic. But I've been grading midterm exams, so perhaps any number of things might make me think of a gin and tonic.

A very nice fly, though!

Cannot see much of the body detail, but the hackling and winging are excellent, and the overall impression is not un-birdlike. Very cool!

Fine inspiration and creativity. I'm more of a Henry McKenna guy myself, but when reaching for a scotch blend I'm with the bird all the way. But I'm at a loss for inspiration for a McKenna fly. Tan on brown certainly comes to mind, perhaps with a little mint green for highlights? ;) A few nips while pondering might inspire me to new heights.

Hi Gary,

I think this is a great fly -looks like a slightly smaller version would make for a good mini streamer fly. Molson Golden does not come in a fancy bottle, but I still think it could be inspirational.

Take care,

Ed
