Old vise

I have been forever looking for an Art Flick type vise, and although this one isn't the same as his, it works on the same principal and has a nice vintage charm. I just got it tonight, and after a light cleaning to get the scale off, I clamped a hook in it and was happy to see it holds tight. Its really a nicely machined piece, and while my HL Leonard vise will always be my favorite, this one is far better as a tying tool.

CJ, very, very cool... but how does it exactly clamp the hook?

That lever on the left has a ramp that moves against an adjustable screw, as you push it down it closes the jaws. For an old piece, it actually holds better than my Renzetti traveler. I just tyed an Atherton #2 on it, it works great. CJ

CJ, i would love to see a close up of the ramp that moves against an adjustable screw from the other side of the vise. It looks simple but obviously as you say works so effectively.
