... At the risk of straying yet further from Hook Porn, I'll add a couple of more books to those above. Leonard Wright, Fishing the Dry Fly as a Living Insect ...
Well, since we're "off topic" and it's a cold winter night... I also am a BIG Leonard M. Wright, Jr. fan...

He owned a place along the Neversink, and authored a book with the same title... his final resting place is in Claryville--- heart of the Charmed Circle--- across the country road from the white Reformed Church where Theodore Gordon's funeral service was held...

I still occasionally toss his Fluttering Caddis pattern, especially one I tabbed a Ginger Mink Tail Caddis...

PS, a long time ago, I also read several G.E.M Skues books, my favorite being Nymph Fishing for Chalk Stream Trout, back in the late 60s when it was hard to find any books on nymph fishing...

Great stuff, fond memories...

Recently moved causing me to downsize. Guys from TU said I gave them about 17k hooks. Also gave a lot to fff. One 1/2 box of hooks I did not give away was Mustad 277, size 32. If I can find the box, I’m Willing to mail 1 to anyone interested. Let me know.

That’s very nice Alan, thank you. One of the other members send me a couple but I’d like a few more to tie on, which I will gladly pay you for. If there’s anything that you need that you can’t find let me know and I will send you some....... I know you downsized but you can fit an awful lot until one of those small plastic shoeboxes !!

Ok
So.....I really crossed over to the Darkside of hook hoarding: :( I purchased over 1 million Mustads in the last three months. And everything on eBay. And I’m calling / texting / messaging all Friends and Acquaintances to send me samples of ones I don’t have. Footnote: some of the Mustads came and boxes of 50,000 to 100,000, so it’s really not a lot <see how this is going?>
Anyway, in one of the small purchases on eBay, there were a few small packets in the bottom of one of the larger boxes: there were some beautiful old Hardy and Partridge hooks !!!

And one other fine find: I found these three flies and piece of a feather tucked in an old Allcocks box...... I really wonder who tied these flies ......... :)

Theroe, what do you do will all those hooks? I thought I was bad with Whiting hackle, deer hair and dubbing materials. I am not even close to your league.

Do you even know all the hooks you have acquired?

Umm - I tie lots of flies ?

I give away a lot of hooks and stuff - and sold some big bulk boxes of hooks..

Plus I’m attempting a rather large hook chart. Learned ALOT, And I found some real gems along the way.
For example : Allcocks are the best suited trout fly hooks, imho.Their model perfect, really is perfect!

More later, back to the hook board....

A lot of good hook collections around here!

I'm running http://flyhooks.org/ - some might know about the site. I'll get around to get some pictures of my own collection, but most of the hooks I got are already with pictures on my site

Fond of the old Allcock and mustad hooks for dries, but also some of the older streamer and in particular blind-eye for classic salmon.

I'm also trying to document up books that cover hooks: http://flyhooks.org/books

I also have a growing collection of blind-eyes that I'm currently taking photos of, for display:
