No.3 is the tricky one John should it or should it not have a gold rib. Nice ties.

Great tying CJ! Atherton's number five has been a real good fly for me.

Nice John!

Just an FYI---We are again having John Atherton's grandaughter, Catherine Vauchaver, join us at the Atherton Booth, at the American Musuem of Fly Fishing summer event on August 10. There's an Atherton display that our SGM member Squish67, friend and AMFF secretary Jamie Woods and I had the pleasure of being involved with a couple of years ago.

I had the pleasure of working with Catherine to get her grandmother's memoir published---and getting a new hardcover re-issue of John Atherton's classic The Fly and the Fish. It was a great honor for me, as an Atherton Fan for many decades, to write the Foreword to the re-issue--something Catherine asked me if I'd like to do. She's a gem of a gal.

>> Also, In the AMFF museum's "Fly Room," (which I also had the pleasure of assisting with) there's a framed set of Atherton flies tied by the man himself. You'll see how far off we all are tying Atherton fly examples. :(

>>>Getting back to CJ's fly---you'll also be able to view his Atherton fly talents, in the forthcoming book that Stackpole asked me to craft--"Favorite Flies for the Catskills." I wrapped up that book last week, and it's now in Stackpole's hands. Our SGM Upstatetrout's fine work, along with our SGM members Epeorus and the late Bill Shuck submitted flies that also grace the project.
