Hi, The best time is the last week in May and the first week in June. These are the two weeks that I love to fish the Catskills, Bill the mailman

Autumn is a nice time also.... late September, first week or two of October... HOWEVER, if it was a hot, dry summer... conditions on some rivers could be tough BUT forests should start to be filled with colorful foliage.... best hatches are springtime, as Bill indicated... I live in the Cats, so I visit them most days of my life and they never wear thin on me....

It was a warm very humid day yesterday, and three of us still caught wild brook trout in mountain streams that were 55 to 62 degrees F, clear and chilly...
