Ed, That looks like my brothers in NYS. He has a 500 acre farm with a stream like that running through it. It’s all private so no body fishes the stream. It has a lot of brook trout in it. Some places it’s only 3 feet wide and in others about 6 or 7 feet wide.It goes down through a small valley into a good size pool or maybe call it a pond(which is ice cold in the summer time) down through some woods and then after about a mile into a larger stream. Then into Afton,NY into the big river. The brookies are about 5to 7inches long. Bill the mailman

Yikes Bill... could that have been your brother who was chasing and shooting at me, while I was poaching here!!! :o  :P

The brook trout in this spot can to be smallish, 4" to 6"... occasionally a monster of 8"... and those bigger trout tend to be colorful, dark, and sometimes have small kypes...

Thanks... :D

... but winter is really here. :o Some 13 inches of snow fell locally around the Ashokan Reservoir Sunday night through early Tuesday AM, while some 20+ inches fell up near Albany, where our oldest son works...

The Catskill "blue mountain" peaks are white...
